I am having surgery in jan. and am concerned that i will not be able to lose this weight because of my pcos. Any help would be appreciated. Can you still lose 100 pounds or more?

Hi Stacie, I'm not sure, but I would assume that the two would work with each other. As the weight goes the symptoms of PCOS should subside. Now I'm no Doc. but I think that's the way it should work. Hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong. Congradulations on your date! Adrienne

I, like many others with PCOS, have lost 100 and am still losing (I'm 223 right now and want to lose another 75), but it is slower to come off than it is with some others who don't have it. Doesn't mean that will be the case with you, but it's possible. I think those of us who were chronic dieters have a rougher time with the slow loss. Dina

I have PCOS and saw a fertility specialist *****commended WLS, he stated that 90% of his patients with PCOS are able to get pregnant without any help after having the surgery. He feels that WLS is the most effective and long lasting tx or at least management of PCOS.

Hi Stacie, I have PCOS and had surgery 14 months ago. I have lost 106lbs. Will I ever get to my goal of 180lbs? I don't know. But my PCOS is much better, my cycles are regular and my blood sugars are normal. I'll take all of that and stay right where I am if it means that I am healthy. Hugs, Maria 306/200/180
