    I was wondering how many patients needed pastic sugery after the weight loss for excess skin removal.  Does everyone have excess skin or does it depend on the amount of weight loss or the the amount of time it takes to lose it. Do some insurance companies cover this?

    I feel there are very few people that *NEED* plastics after surgery but many of us *WANT* the extra skin off.   The amount of weightloss, age, elasticity and time you are obese will play in the amount of extra skin but nothing is 100%. Some insurance companies will cover "reconstructive" surgery but I dont know of any that will cover cosmetic...

    I dont need it, but I want it.  Everybody has some form of excess skin, wiggle, jiggle.. even thou young lightweights. Its just a matter of what you can or cannot live with. Some insurance companies do - it depends on *your* plan.

    First visit to surgeon - 288 ~ bmi 45.1 
    2 week pre-op 252 ~ bmi 39.5
    Total lost - 143   Since surgery - 107!

    Goal weight - 155
    Current weight - 145 ~ bmi 22.7
    Holding steady at 145 since Feb 2008!
