Topic: RE: Painful Gas 4 days after
I am one day post op and I was belching before I even left the hospital! I take the smallest sip of water and I have series of belches! It's quite embarassing. I can hardly sleep for all the belching. Sometimes they are real deep and painful. When will this end?

    Topic: SWAPKINS March 3, 10:30a - 2:30p Burnsville, MN
Hi all, I've scheduled another SWAPKINS March 3, 2012 10:30a - 2:30p. Mary, Mother of the Church (look for this sign) Room: The Mary Center (on the lower level) 3333 Cliff Road Burnsville, MN   There is excellent parking, building access, and there will be carts available to bring in your swap-ables and take your goodies home. Tell everyone you know! Forward this email! The event just gets better with every person who comes.    ------ Do you have clothes that haunt your closet - the clothes that don't fit quite right? Or maybe they do fit, but you don't feel great when you wear them because they aren't your style, or you just don't need them? Would you really like something new to wear? Maybe you've changed jobs or gained/lost some weight and you need some clothes, but you don't want to spend a lot to get something new?   COME TO SWAPKINS! We will have tables and clothes racks loaded with clean clothes in good condition. Clean out your closets and bring clothes to share. Check out what we've got and take home what you like. NO MONEY IS EXCHANGED. We will have men's, women's and children's clothes - everything from casual clothes to dressy. Also outerwear and accessories. The mix is different everytime, but it's always good stuff!   It's hard to explain how much fun it can be to bag up and get rid of clothes. No garage sale tagging! No bargaining with a consignment shop. Just bring them and *poof* they're gone and you KNOW they've gone to a good place.   It's hard to explain how much fun it is to walk into a great big room full of clothes and pick up anything you like and take it home, AND IT'S FREE.   We need bringers (who will bring things to share) and takers (to 'shop' the shared stuff). You can be one, the other, or both! It is not required that you bring anything to the event to take anything away. Everything at the event is free.   Email with questions. See you there! Jen   P.S. If this note was forwarded to you and you'd like to be added the the email list, send a note directly to swapkins@yahoo.com with your name and email address. ===   SWAPKINS is a community event that began in 2006. Participants bring clean, clothes in good condition. The clothes brought in are placed on tables marked with sizes. Then attendees “shop” the tables of clothes with sizes that they can use.  All remaining clothes are donated to charity. No money is exchanged.   This event is typically scheduled every 3 to 6 months. Most participants are from the Twin Cities area, but some do come from outstate Minnesota and Wisconsin .

Topic: RE: 11 days post op... update on my experience!!
Congrats on your sleeve! I was just sleeved Thursday (Feb 2nd). The only pain I have at all is the drain site. I am able to swallow whole pills and for that I am grateful. I tried the liquid form pain med and I threw it up:( Scary after stomach surgery! I am having trouble getting all the liquid I need in. I feel like I have to be sipping something constantly. I wanted to weigh myself at the hospital, but didn't want to ask. I weighed when I got home and it says I am 1lbs. down. I don't pay to close attention to the scale when it weight loss/gain is within 5 lbs as I have heard anyone can fluctuate 5 lbs in any given day. I look forward to seeing your progress and thanks for sharing your blog:)

Topic: RE: Phantom Pain with missing Gallbladder
I had my gallbladder out 8 years ago and I have phantom pains where it was. I can't chalk this up to surgery as I was just sleeved on Thurdsay. I just think it is normal. Like when someone loses a limb and says they still feel pain in their fingers/toes.

I'm in. I am 7 years out of surgery and a marriage and 3 pregnancies later...I started my 3rd pregnancy at 218lbs and i know will gain more before the baby comes in Aug. I feel like my eating habits are out of control and I am starting to feel like I did before I had surgery...depressed, tired, heavy, etc.  I have not logged in to this site in years..and logged on first time today seeking help. This group is EXACTLY what I need. I don't even remember the basics....how do i get back there?

    Pre surgery 308lbs
Post Surgery -down to 175lb....fluctuated to 180lb and was happy and felt fit and healthy.
In last 2 years, I am now up to 217lb. How to I stop the weight gain?

    Topic: RE: Post-op Depression
I quit smoking for surgery too and my eyesight is blurry -especially when I drive. I know that thier is NO way in hell. I could've been smoke free this long without the surgery because I always gain weight after I quit smoking and right now I'm losing. It hasn't been that long. I really think it will get better for you....I felt ashamed by my eating and by my smoking. For the last 14 days I haven't felt ashamed by any of that. Hang in there.

Hi Erica, I would love to join as well. I had a RNY in 1995 yes 16yrs ago. I gained back 100 pounds, and I had a revision 2/2011, and have since lost 115 #'s; I am doing the right thing now.. Eating and exercising right to maintain.. This is the hardest thing to do. Some support wouldbe great.. We all can motivate each other.. I just had a brachioplasty (arms done) which I am very happy with.. Was painful but definitely worth it.. I have loads experience with this and would love to share with anyone interested. So where do I sign up?

Topic: RE: Any Paramedics that are post WLS?

Hey I had my RNY on Monday 12/11/11 I'm doing OK I am probably going to be off 4 to 6 weeks just to get used to things. A few of my fellow medics have had the surgery, with varying success. In the beginning it's good but as they returned to work they had hard times maintaining a routine. I'm hoping to use the off time to get into a rhythm of working out. As far as eating I'm with the other post probably going to have to plan ahead with a cooler of go to snacks good luck
