Just getting started!

I am just now looking into the WLS and was wondering for all of you that had the Realize band done was it hard to get your insurance to approve it....People have been telling me it is harder to be approved for any kind of banding, but if it was bypass they approve quicker....any tips on how to get mine approved?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

The approval process was fairly easy.  I had the 6 mos su[ervised diet, psych eval, bloodwork and ekg.  I think most of those test are pretty common.  Once my paperwork was submitted to the insurance company I was approved in about a day.  My BMI was right over 36 but I had at least 2 co-morbids.  I dont know if bypass is easier but my process was fairly easy.
