Fed BCBS?
I had a large ulcer that was not responding to meds. I didn't jump through any hoops at all. My hospital took care of the pre-authorization request, and Fed BCBS approved it immediately (1 or 2 business days). I literally had surgery just a few days afterward. I was in a lot of pain and wanted surgery ASAP.

I have BCBS Federal and they are making me wait!! I've been jumping through their hoops since before March '11... When they told me it could take up to a month they were not lying!! I got a letter from them on June 8 stating they needed additional information from my previous surgeon... Long story short I finally got everything they needed and faxed it to them on July 6... I have yet to hear anything... when I called the lady told that it could take up to two months now. My BMI is right at 39. I had Crap band in 08 and I'm requesting gastric sleeve... For the most part I just want this band out of my body... I have no fluid in it and I still get stuck and get sick if I attempt dense protein. I hope you find out something soon... for me... I'm not holding my breath...
