I had VBG done in 2004 and was wondering if they do revisions to gastric sleeve.

Maybe. But you likely have a lot of damage to your stomach from the VBG. A sleeve may not be possible, but RNY might, or vice-versa.

See a couple of surgeons, and have detailed scans done showing the conditions of your insides. Don't get your heart set on something until you know if you have options, and what they are.

Hi, I had a VBG in 1991 and did a revision to an RNY on April 19, 2016. Right before my surgery, I learned there was a "chance" the doctor would not be able to do any procedures. This was from his PA. When I discussed this with the surgeon on the morning of surgery, he went into detail of the "why" so I had a knowledge if it could not be done. He would not know until he was in the middle of surgery what he would find. I told him do what he could, gave him all OKs to do what he needed to get done, what my preferences were, etc. He even asked if he needed to open me up instead of laparoscopy, I said do what you need to. He said he was quite sure he would not need to do that. The expected time for the revision surgery is 5 to 6 hours. He was finished in 2 hours. All went well.

Today marks 3 months, I have lost 44 pounds. The best way to find out what will work for you, is to contact your local doctor. Good luck, hugs!

I  had VBG in 1998.  Had RNY done in February.  Have lost 70 pounds!   My doctor recommended RNY not the sleeve.  I guess it would be up to the surgeon.  Good luck!
