Surgery on Tuesday went well - or so the doctor tells me.  My 3-day stay turned into 5, mainly because he kept me NPO for the first 3 days and then on clear liquids Friday and Saturday.  Today's first full day on pureeds went well - no issues, and pureed chicken is quite tasty when seasoned well and moist - however the texture is a problem for me.  My only real issue is that I have had laryngitis since surgery.  I see the doc on Wednesday, so if its not better by then (8 days post-surgery) I hope he gives me some answers as to why this happened and is continuing.  Anyone else had experience with this?

So glad your surgery went well, and now you're on your journey to a healthier you! I did not have laryngitis after my surgery, but I believe it is because of the tube they put down your throat when they put you to sleep. My mother has problems with it every time she has anesthesia. Good luck on your pureed stage! It only gets better and better!

Glad to hear you are home and doing well,Sonja. Most likely the throat issue is from the insertion and removal of the tube they put down to breathe for you during surgery. It should be gone soon!
