Revision weights? Weight gained back? Stretched stoma or pouch?

What are the revision guidelines that have made you qualify? A certain percentage of weight gain? Proven stretched pouch/stoma? I've regained about 35lbs and can't see to get it back under control. I'm looking into getting schlerotherapy or revision. But my current weight is 185. Help

I asked a similar question, as I am in almost the exact same situation as you! Try and sift through some of the snarky remarks because there is a lot of good information in there. I am going to see my bariatric doctor on March 2nd to see if I have a failure of my GBS, or if it is another issue I need to deal with. I had my WLS over 11 years ago and it's only been the last couple of years I can't seem to get my regain back under control:

Thank you. I'll take a look at the thread. I go on April 7th. Still a bit away, but i'll update once I get some feedback from my surgeon.

Meh, whatever, I personally try not to read too much into other's tones because they are so subjective on message boards but wanted to warn her in advance so she could get the most out of the advice that was given to me.

I had to cancel my appointment. I injured my right shoulder and may have a torn rotator cuff, so I am dealing with that right now. I will say the pain killers I am on have killed my appetite so I am losing weight. Not the best way to go about it though

I must say, I find the snarky remarks so disappointing! We are all seeking answers and advice. The bottom line is, if you know the volume of what you can eat has increased, then something in your anatomy may have changed and you may need a surgical intervention. Why are so many against it, saying it is more risky than the original surgery (absolutely not true!) and other discouraging commentary when they are not doctors? One person called me dysfunctional for even considering it! So sad.

I took my surgeon's advice, did my revision and am super happy that I did. Those of you considering revisions, don't get derailed by the negative feedback here. Talk to your doctor as they and only they know what is physically and medically necessary for your personal situation.

My doctor told me that if you are successful with your first weight loss surgery, but your anatomy has changed (enlarged or misshapen sleeve) and you are seeing regain, a revision is likely a logical and helpful solution! And you will be successful again, once your tool is working right again.

I think some of the snarky posters are newbies and just a few months or even years out. They may have no idea about the long term challenges, changes that your body can make, etc. I hope people think back to how they might have been treated when first considering WLS, and curtail the discouraging feedback to someone who is now considering a revision.

Best of luck! I hope you will keep us posted on how your appointment goes! I had my revision in January and am so thankful I did, despite the multitude of people here who told me I just wasn't trying hard enough. Glad my doctor saw things differently! :) I am now back to almost 100% loss of my extra weight and feeling great!
