Hi guys its been awhile for me. I was on here a few years ago. Anyways my question is, has anyone used Medicaid for revision surgery? I spoke with my insurance and was told I could get it done if a doctor found it medically necessary. I can't seem to find a doctor near or far. It has to be at a center of excellence for my insurance to cover it. If anyone can please put me on the right path I would appreciate it.

I searched for "bariatric center of excellence" and found THIS site to help you search for one. I would think your insurace company should be able to give you a list.

Good luck!!

When you're looking at whether or not medicaid will cover something, google what the requirements for BCBS (Blue Cross Blue Shield) are for WLS revision. BCBS is the standard for medicaid usually does. It's my understanding (& I could be wrong), that they do cover revisions but the # of comorbids they require is higher depending on your current BMI. Hope this helps.
