any VBG with revision to RNY?

I had a VBG in the early 90s and 16 mos. ago had the RNY. I was interested in hearing from members who had similar done. thanks

Hi Casy, I had a VBG in 1998 and was revised to a RNY in May. I have had multiple complications but I am glad that I did the revision, because atleast I can eat solid food again. If you have any questions please feel free to email me. Good luck in your journey! Dawn

I am scheduled for a reviision from VBC to RNY, but because of several abdominal surgeries, the Dr. won't know for sure until he gets in if he can complete the RNY. At a minimum, he will remove the ring from my VBG as my stomach is full of ulcers and I have Barrett's Esophogus. I won't know until after surgery if he is able to do the RNY. I am keeping my fingers crossed. My surgery is scheduled for August 10. Kathy

I had a VBG in 1984 and after a 2 1/2 year battle with insurance(only 1 WLS per lifetime) I had an open RNY May 3, 2005. I didn't have any complications and am feeling and doing great.
