Hey Spiceygirl!

If you can, have your band removed first, let you insides heal, then get sleeved.  I could be completely wrong but it seems we that heal a bit have an easier time with our sleeved stomachs.  you by the way will love your sleeved stomach.

All best,

Layla

Topic: RE: Post Op ERNY'rs to DS Revisions Have Questions, Really could use some answers!

Hey, I am sure that through the years you've been in touch with VitaLady Michelle - as you probably know, she has an ERNY and has managed very well.

I hope you can solve whatever issues you are having without additional surgeries.  I worry about a full pouch take down for you as your original surgery was a stomach stapling then RNY then ERNY and now to DS .

I am a revision too.  I remember you from a while back.  I am sorry if you are having troubles - that sucks!

All Best,

L

Topic: RE: switching from.sleeve to band

Wow, sorry you've had a change of mind.  It seemed you were all set to get the more logical 2nd PArt - a full DUODENAL switch.  With your gain and current BMI,  Adjustable gastric banding would not be the wisest choice.  You'd kiss yourself to diet and get the weight off without getting the band if you don't want Further surgery.  Drastic BMI's and gain  call for drastic measures even if not choosing any additional weight loss surgeries.  That means a set controlled diet & daily rigorous exercise.

The Band on your sleeved stomach will be your biggest mistake.  DON'T GET THE BAND EVEN IF YOU FIND SOME QUACK WILLING TO DO IT FREE OF CHARGE!

ALL BEST,

L

It sounds like you were revised to a distal RNY hence all the gas.  I think most of us have weird stomach noises.  I don't have spasms nor noise all the time but sometimes I do sound like a beast.

Good luck

*wink* *wink*  (translate in pig latin (well I really don't know Pig Latin . . . just think opposite of what I'm sayin" *wink, wink*)

Dr. Haucuz is a great surgeon

Dr. Haucuz has a superb history of identifying all of your insides right once your surgical incisions are made

I wish I would have chose Dr. Haucuz for my surgery in the first place

There is no written testimonial of Dr. Haucuz patient having a Lap Band sewn onto her esophagus

No way Dr. Haucuz allowed a patient to become so septic that her innards gushed with pus when she was cut by a saving surgeon while she clung onto life

Dr. Haucuz has a steady hand for sleeving stomachs and they always come out in ideal form - not too little where they require life saving dilation and feeding tubes because the stomach is so tiny and delicate it may be stretched thin. And not too odd shaped like weird when you get tested by a bad doc and they say "say what,  and what the  BEEP !!!"

Dr. Haucuz is a very skilled and caring doctor who has taken his oath seriously.

How sickening!  Dr. Daniel Huacuz is a butcher.  How dare he cut desperate people up and blindly gut them.  He doesn't even give a damned.

I've had anxiety attacks from reading the horror stories.  How could any person with any sense of humanity inflict such bloody harm on so many who go to him seeking help.

Arrest Dr. Huacuz and throw away the key.

Stuff can happen when you go into surgery but this dude is a mad man - way too many life threatening errors happen with him AND worst of all, he lets you die and suffer.  It is only those clinging to life (deadly infection, botched surgeries) *****ach out for help that have a chance at living with the butchering.

This guy is a devil.  Shout it out from the rooftops!!!  His hands should never touch another human with surgical tools.

You've got to do what works for you.

The 5 Day is over for me until I feel I need to do again.  Down 7 lbs and doing a more  sensible daily diet.  As I said whatever works.  If you can stay on atkins Kudos to you.  That was my choice before WLS but  never could stick it out.

 Best,

LayLa

ANY FURTHER POSTS ON THIS 5 DAY POUCH TEST SUBJECT WILL BE POSTED ON THE "WLS GRADS FORUM"

Please join us in doing the 5 Day Pouch Test beginning Monday, March 11th.

This is for an EMERGENCY situation - when "out of control" to get back to "normal"

Do the 5 Day as written!

--NO calorie restriction

--AVOID pursuing perfection

--DON'T focus on scale

All the information you need is here - read thoroughly - www.5daypouchtest.com

and it would be a great idea to watch Kaye Bailey's videos on You tube.

You should prepare your soup (delicious & packed with protein) and protein jello over the weekend if you have a busy schedule during the week.

Kaye says something like and it is so not a direct quote - YOU had your guts hacked and YOU signed up for this for life!

What happens beyond day 5

Following the rules that we should have stuck post-op to if we strayed

-Protein First

-Water - at least 64oz and stay close to the 30/30 rule

-No Snacking - or smart planned snacking GOODBYE SLIDERS - pretzels, crackers . . .

-EXERCISE

Beyond Day 5 will get interesting but lets do the 5 day first and detox off of the carbs and get clarity with our bodies.

Talk to you soon!

Layla

Topic: RE: Question do you have Blue Cross Blue Shield Federal?

The 5 day pouch test is really about ditching carbs and getting back to WLS POST-OP basics - protein first, 30/30 drinking rule, lots of water, no snacking, and daily exercise.  In the Interim because of the mindfulness you can feel your sleeve/pouch again.  Kaye's books  Actually awesome.  She's no simpleton.

I hope you be able to have the DS.  It's a great surgery when you can follow the guidelines.

Best

Topic: RE: Question do you have Blue Cross Blue Shield Federal?

Hey Babygirl!

Remember that even if you have the DS, you will STILL have to get your diet in order . . . that means you'll need to drop the carbs STILL!  the magic is that you will have to stop putting certain things in your body and you will have to stop eating as much as you like and when you want to.  We have to learn to be mindful and stop the instant gratification with food.  It is real baby like and we are not babies.  We need to eat for nourishment.

I haven't had a gain but I never lost to goal.  No doubt that I can still lose and I have no doubt that you can too.  Do you want to give it a whirl together?  I am going to start the 5 Day pouch on Sunday or Monday - more than likely Sunday.  Are you interested?  We can use the Grads Forum for posting and text back and forth.

Check out the 5 Day pouch.  I have the books so if I find anything particularly insiteful I will post about it.  The books are really good by the way.

All Best,

Layla

Hmmm.  Why don't you bite the bullet and get revised to the duodenal switch.  You know ROSE, Stomphyx etc. have all had very poor results.  Or if you are no****ching your intake and exercise, do that first.

I wish you the very best.

There are a couple of BOB who are very happy with this revision - see Heather who has probably responded.  My doc says that it has about the same stats as a virgin band.

Speaking from my gut, I would not have this thing installed if I were you.  More than likely it would require you having additional surgeries in the future.  If you don't mind that then go for it.

Good luck.

Wow, I like how you group all the restrictive WLS into the 98% failure rate.  I hope you are not glorifying your new choice of surgery because there is some stats on that as well.    If you got approved for any WLS, you could have fought for the DS and won if that is what you needed.

No way any of these surgeries will do the work for you.   We've got to swim to our destination then keep swimming to maintain.

Gosh, I really, really, really struggled with the idea of cutting and removing my stomach (because of this, I almost had it folded like a burrito instead.  Thank God I back out in the final minutes).  But it has been such a blessing to have the burden of having to constantly satisfy my big ole stomach removed.

And my doc said things like "now you'll be like the rest of your girlfriends",  "now you have the stomach you wished you were born with".  Awesome!!!

All best!
