Did you experience changes with your menstrual cycle? If so, did it go back to your normal schedule?  My came on the day I was released from the hospital on 1/21/12 and lasted for about 4 days. Now, less than two weeks later my cycle is back on again with all the bells and whistles; bloating, cramps, fatigue, salt cravings. As you can imagine, the scale has not moved, in either direction, many days!  No too much concerned about the scale as much as I am about my cycle going wacko!

Had my period the day after my surgery (and boy was that fun in the hospital, not).  Didn't have it again until three months later... but it wasn't any heavier or longer than usual.  Before surgery, I was like clockwork, every 29 or so days.

I spotted the day after surgery and 2 weeks later had an 11 day cycle.  My previous period was almost 15 months ago.  I thought I was post menopausal.  But apparently not.  I remember when I was in boot camp, we were told that extreme change would cause our cycles to be wacked out.  I think having your guts rearranged counts as extreme.

Mine didn't get back to normal for about six months.

As far as the scale not moving in many days, well, it hasn't been many days since you had surgery!  Therefore it seems it cannot have not moved for many days.  Don't worry about the scale right now.

My period started as scheduled on January 8 but was very light (almost just spotting) all the way up to surgery, Jan 18. I continued to have some spotting while in the hospital but after I got home, Jan 20, it picked up and became a regular flow... and it is still going. I think it might be letting up ever so slightly. Hopefully it will stop at some point!

I was pretty regular.. every 28/30 days.. before surgery with the exception that I would miss a period occasionally. (Maybe 1-2 times a year). It generally would last anywhere from 5 to 8 days.

It seems to me that mine started going whacky with my preop liquid diet maybe.

Anywho.. I'm just glad to know that others are affected also,, even if it is in different ways.

Here's hoping we get back to "normal" soon! Personally, I'm tired of being on my period!
As if having major surgery wasn't enough to worry about!

My first period postop lasted like two months- very heavy most of the time, very annoying. Its been normal since then.

My period started the week before surgery and stopped the week I had it. Then it started again the week after surgery and lasted like two months! It was crazy and absolutely horrible!

My cycles have become shorter.  I will be a year out on Feb. 15th and they have ranged from 21-25 days for the last 12 months.  This month was 23 days.  The Dr. said it is to be expected and not to worry unless they become shorter than 21 days and last for 10 or more.
