Just curious...I see that a lot of people say No Rice. Besides being a carb, why is everyone against rice?

Not to repeat what you already said, but many people had big problems with carbs, and it's been shown that carbs may have an addictive factor. I was told that carbs slow down weight loss significantly, so I haven't messed with rice post-op. And I make the best carribbean style coconut  rice and peas that I miss so very much.

Also for some, rice gets stuck.

Everyone is not against rice.  I eat brown rice sometimes, in small amounts.  I don't have a problem with it.

White rice kills me!
It basically makes a sticky goo ball in my pouch and sits there forever. The last, and only, time I had a teaspoon of rice at a Chinese restaurant I ended up almost crying on the couch for over 8 hours in serious pain. It was so sharp and bad that I had decided if it hit 12 hours without passing I was going to the emergency room.

I'm not sure if everybody is talking about white rice, but I eat brown rice and have been able to tolerate that quite well, maybe you can try that.  Good luck!

I eat a grain called quinoa and make it just like rice.  I really like it much better than rice.

I had some rice last night for the first time, but it did not cause any issues. That's why I was curious!

I cannot eat rice.  I though ti was having surgery complications it caused so much pain.  I felt like my side was going to burst wide open.

Ther eare only a handful of foods that effect me this way.  They are very easy to give up with that kind of pain associated with them.

No problems with brown rice at all for me. I use Bird's Eye Steam Fresh (frozen) brown rice and have 1/4 cup serving with my evening meal. My eating plan stresses that whole grains are an important part of a our healthy eating plan.

That being said, last night I had a bit of sushi and OMG, the white rice was such a nightmare to my pouch and wasn't at all pleasant. Even today, my pouch is crying foul! Ended up just leaving the white rice and eating the tuna and salmon and the innards of the california roll. My dinner plate looked like some biological forensic experiment....everything separated and sorted into little eatable (or not) piles.
