I am 10 weeks out.. and the past two weeks losing hasn't been easy, and now I have gained 4lbs. Could it be a water gain? UGH, this is so frustrating.

Take a deep breath and keep following your program.  Your body is still trying to figure out what you did to it.   Lots of factors could be in play here including hormones.

I had a 4 week stall at week 3 and at week 8 began to steadily lose - thought I was going to be the only one not to be successful with RNY.

i also hit a stall in my third week that lasted 4 weeks..at the end of my seven week( a day before i hit 8 weeks out) i lost 4lbs..it was frustrating as hell and i began to think that this was not going to work form me, that i was going to be one of those that the surgery has failed(i dont know if there are any out there) but it was hard and depression started  to set in...but thank fully im starting to loose again and hopefully it will continue i dont expect a miracle and all im hoping for is a 2lb loss a week.. i can live with that!!! im glad to see that its all in my head and that this will work for me!! i thought that iwas doing something wrong and that this early stall had only happened to me....

I'm 7 weeks out and so frustrated with the scale, I finally got down two and today when I weighed I was up 2, I know it's water retention likely but it just bugs me because I started working out this week, I'm consistent with min 60 g protein and keeping my carbs under 30, most times under 25 and still my weight is so sluggish coming off.  I am not expecting 15 pounds a week but a pound a week sometimes would be awesome.

I don't know if I am going to be one of those that loses only one week a month of 10 or 12 pounds and then nothing for the rest of the month, but I'm just sort of blue...trying to keep my spirits up but it's difficult, because I'm following my program, I'm moving and yet..nadda or not much..

So all we can do is just keep on keeping on.  I didn't expect miracles but I did expect better results than 'dieting' gave me.

Gypsy:  You're 50 days out and you've lost 40 pounds.  Wow!  Not sure what you were expecting, but that is MUCH better than I ever did when dieting!  Sounds like you are doing very well.  Keep up the good work, and you'll get there before you know it.

Stay off the scale! That was my advice from my surgeon and I have stuck to it ( for the most part). The scale can stress you out and some people even gain weight. I just follow my plan and trust that the weight is coming off.

Hope this help!

I'm not happy you are having issues, but I am glad to see this post!  I (for the first time) didn't lose anything from week 8-9 and was actually up 1 pound.

I'm trying to just go with it. I know it's too early to panic, and no way can I be gaining weight on 850-950 calories a day!

But I feel for you! It's scary to see that number move the wrong way with all the hard work we are doing.

I am going through the same issues at 7 weeks out, but constantly reminding myself of everything the surgery center and the veterans on this forum keep saying. It will happen, we need to be patient and keep focused. I can't wait until we're the ones giving that same message to the "new" newbies...

Hang in there!

im sorry that your going thruoght this .. i know its frustrating but dont feel bad it could be water retention and also sometimes the scale goes up and down through out the day.. so dont get scared or feel like you did something wrong because you havent..just try to relax go get a massage and forget about the scale for a couple of days.. you will see that my next week its all over and your down a couple of pounds... good luck!!

are you keeping to your 800 calories a day
60-80g of protein
64oz of water/drink
2 multy vits
calcium citrate 3 a day(500mg)
b12 one tablet per week of 1000..

al th was recommned by the dr..

im having a hard time with the calcium
but otherwise im doing fine
also sometimes i eat up to 1000 calories(epic fail)
all in all its good...

if your worried about the gain you could go back to basics
which is whats above..only the calories should be from 600-800 a day!!
good luck and keep us posted!!

It is mist likely water weight. The week before I get my period I always gain 2 or 3 pounds and I stop loosing. As soon as I get it I loose it ant then some. Just follow your doctors plan and all will work out.
