Why I still post here

Because I like it. Because it's something I do for me.
Really..I do this all for me.
I like asking for help.
I like knowing I'm not the only one that did "X"
I like sharing knowledge.
I like supporting people.
I like seeing how people are progressing.
I like remembering what it's like early on.
I like sharing my troubles..whether they be about food or not.
Sometimes I even like answering the Flinstone's question.

The average life span of an OH poster is 2 1/2 years. People move on. Maybe they get annoyed by the same questions. Maybe they think they have it beat. Probably they don't like it anymore.

I like it.

I like it a lot right now while I'm not working and recovering from my surgery.
I like to read the posts late at night when I'm working.
I like being part of this community.

Thank you for answering the "Flinstone" question!
I like it too! and glad you're here

I like having folks who have "been there, done that" and can / will tell me to watch my step.
I like reading late at night at work too
I don't have much time or experience, but I like chiming in when I can help or give encouragement
You have 7 months of experience. There is a lot of information there. Like how at about 6 months you can suddenly eat more and it's scary. What your exercise looks like. What's it like to have baggy/new size clothes..all sorts of things at 7 months!

I will be really, really honest here.

I like being active in the WLS community for many reasons but a big one is because I am somebody in this community. I've made a good name for myself.

in my day to day life I'm not that significant to many people aside from my immediate family. I like the fact that folks here and on FB and on Bariatric Foodie look to me as someone they want to know and who they like. It's a good feeling.

So that's PART of why I post here. Your reasons are part as well.
This *is* day to day life and you are significant to MANY people in it!!  We are all real people and you are in our life. Don't sell yourself short.

Can we make you the official Flintstones question answerer?

Disclaimer: I am not a doctor and do not play one on TV.  I've done a lot of research on vitamins but am not qualified to give medical advice.  I'm happy to share my research with you, but you should see a health care professional if you want medical advice.

Check out my blog at: storyofmyservicedog.blogspot.com/

I think if there were sticky's on the top of the forum it would help but they never will let us do it.

Standard flinstones answer..not enough vitamins for more cost!

and no..I won't be the official answerer!!!

I still post here because I don't have an 'in-person' support meeting to attend... and honestly, even when I did I got more support and useable information here than I ever did in the support sessions I attended.

I stay around because this helps me stay on track... and if I can help or encourage someone else in this journey, it makes me feel good.

You've helped me a gillion times!

Aw, and you've helped me at LEAST that many!  I for one am glad you're still around... and so many of the others with even more experience than me.

Hope you're feeling better than you were mid-last week...

I've learned that it's hard to be a bone marrow transplant nurse and a kidney transplant patient.
My doctor's treat me like I know more than I do and they say things I think a little flippantly. Then I worry that I am not monitoring myself well enough. It's kind of a roller coaster but it seems/I hope the big curves are behind me.
I go back tomorrow. Hopefully my drug levels are down.
I walked for a long time today and went grocery shopping. I haven't yelled at the family all evening. I must be getting better!

I never considered that angle before... that you could be missing out on important info frm the docs because they just assume you know, due to your profession.  That's a crappy deal... when dealing with something as serious as you've just gone through, I would think they wouldn't leave anything to chance.

That being said, I hope the worst of it is behind you.  Keeping my fingers crossed for a good appointment for you tomorrow... is that when you're getting your iron, too?  ;)

I wi**** was iron time. A few more hoops to jump.

I am presently in the waiting room for my IV IRON!!!!!!!!!! Me and the cancer patients. They have a nice set up here..drinks and internet acess.
