When will my energy come back?

I had bypass surgery one month ago.  I'm still easily tired and just feel drained.  Is this typical? When will I begin to feel more energetic??
I had my surgery 2 months ago and there are days that I feel like I am not gonna get through the day! I am told that it does take time! Just keep doing what your suppose to and it will come back! At least thats what I hope! Good Luck my fellow Surgivarian!

You are not alone!  I have good and bad days.  Today has been a bit better, yesterday, I was so exhausted, I felt like it was a set back, but feeling much better today.  I think the key is moving as much as you feel up to it.  Don't go overboard!  I still have 3 weeks home, but might go back to work in 2, that would be home for 5 if I do.  Are you getting your calories in with at least 75 g of protein?  Are you taking your vitamins?
It took me 6 months to feel like I had my energy back. Hang in there!!

Hmmm...I had the opposite problem.  After a weight loss of only 20 pounds, I had so much energy I had trouble taking it easy - I would easily overdo housework, raking leaves, etc.  I literally felt like bouncing.

I used to take naps, not every day but usually 1 or 2 on the weekends.  Since I had surgery 2 years ago, I have taken a total of 3 naps.  I felt tired, drained, listless, lazy...before I lost weight.  But now, I get by on about 6 hours sleep a night, and hardly ever get tired.  I guess I'm a weird one?

The first 4 or 5 weeks I was exhuasted and just wanted to sleep.  I felt good otherwise.  I feel much better at 7 weeks.  However, if I have a day that I don't get much water, protein or vitamins then I am tired the next day.  Thus, I am making a greater effort to get them in.
I'm 6 weeks out and just felt almost 100% this week.  Instead of napping with my two year old I have stayed up and done some housework while she slept for two days in a row now....not a huge deal but big considering how tired I had been :). Be patient with yoursel. It will come if you're following your program :)

Are you taking all your vitamins, B12 etc? Are you getting all the protein your supposed to?
Are you pushing as hard as the doctor said or not at all or even too much?

Are you getting 8 hours of sleep a day?

I got my energy back at about 6 weeks when I could get more calories in.. I stil felt blah though.. but by 3 months I felt great.. stick with it you'll get there!!
