Most docs recommend chewables in the beginning. The ASMBS says you can swallow pills whenever you can tolerate it.
Any brand of adult multi is fine as long as it has 100% of the RDA of most things, including minerals like zinc, copper and selenium. You need two a day.
You also need 1500-2000 mg calcium citrate, iron and B12.

I don't think there is a definite answer to that question, but I recommend against it, as do many surgeons and dieticians, because we can only absorb so much of some vitamins at a time and taking both together may interfere with absorption.
