cm of bypassed intestines?

which one bypasses more intestine an ERNY or a Distal? which has less a 150 or a 100? I thought I had this figured out until I started reading some archived posts and saw many that referred to an ERNY as a different amount than a distal. I thought they were the same. is it the higher the number the more is
bypassed?
I don't know what ENRY  is but I was bypasses 150cm and that is 4'11" seems like a lot to me ...so it HAS to work ...right?
I am actually loosing slower with RNY than I have on "diets" but it is taking much less effort!! I think because I had the band and my espheagus has been stretched and holds food , I had that issue when the band was in place, it actually became part of my stomch
I believe 150 is more than 100 ( I googled it)

The number (100 or 150) denotes the number of centimetres bypassed.  I always believed an ERNY and a distal were one and the same ...  both require a DS style amount of vitamin supplementation.

8 years + post RNY - 100% EWL and maintaining ...

I thought they were the same as well. Then I read the posts from Deanne K. and she talks about having had an RNY then a ERNY then a Distal. That is why I am so confused...
I was confused too, I need to ask my doc about more vitamins, is 150 considered distal? some say it is other's say it is not , the "regular" RNY can go from 80 cm to 150cm's...I  don't get it

 AFAIK:  (from 9 years ago)

RNY- normally done
Proximal means closer to an area average 75-100cm
Distal means closer to the farther side  more bypassed-  usually 150 cm
ERNY- extended RNY  even more bypassed  usually in a  revision.

Then there are the inadvertant  DistalERNY like me.  I started at 150 cc bypassed, then due to a bowel infarct 56 more cm died and had to be removed.  I think I'm at about 200 + cm removed.

BUT how do I figure out the common channel :-)

ok, thank you for clearing that up for me. I don't know what I had to begin with I will have to ask the doctor. I have been reading archived posts on both surgeries. Gettin kinda worried about it. I am due for my first office visit for revision so I have lots of time. But my only options are BOB, Distal or ERNY. don't want to BOB so trying to learn all I can. Knowing the differnce now will help me understand the research.
Ii would strongly reccomend contacting your surgeon and geting a copy of your OP report.

It took me 7 years to get around to it, the doc's would have killed for it when I had my bowel infarct so they knew what had been done.

I had my surgery 2 hours away, and my doc had very poor follow up.  He has now moved to a new practice even further away so I'm pretty much on my own.  I'm looking into follow up at a University Hospital so I can get some consistant care.
