Vitamins and Meds

Hi, I'm a newbie. Had surgery Monday. I'm home and doing well. I need some advice. Is there and easier way to crush up the meds and vitamins and what can I mix them with. They are all soooo bitter. Plain ole yucky.

This is my first post, but I have been getting so much great advice from all of you for a couple of months and I was so ready for the surgery, thanks to this website! Thanks to all!

You can buy a pill crusher for a few dollars at any pharmacy.  It's pretty easy to crush meds in them.

You can mix them with anything on your meal plan right now but I don't know of anything that will make them not taste bitter.  Can you use chewable vitamins?  Or liquids, like ENS from Celebrate?  Those won't taste so bad.

I never crushed anything.  I used chewable vitamins at first and just swallowed my meds.

Thanks Kelly, I have the pill crusher, just trying to get through the beginning stages to make this successful.
To me, the chewables were nasty too. At 3 weeks, when my MD wanted me to start my calcium/D, I switched from the chewables to regular. I had no problems. It's funny when I look back, I was taking my pain med in pill form and it was as larger than my MVI.
