On 1/30/12 I begain my new healthier life, it is not easy, but day by day I will reach my goals.
Each patient will not lose wt at identical rates.  Starting BMI, compliance with protocol, whether exercising, food choices, portion choices, etc., etc.  Too many variables. I know some post ops who lost all of their wt at 7 months post op, and yet it took me 24 months to get to my lowest wt. Most seem to average 12-16 months. DAVE

I tried this website. It doesn't give you the amount. only your BMI

RNY 10-17-2007.  Currently at goal weight.
That tool is not a realistic picture in my opinion....because I started out at 382 week before surgery...and its saying I should have lost 40 lbs the first month......I had only lost by month 2 was 34 lbs.   I'm happy with that.  I do wi**** was faster but I feel like atleast I'm losing and getting healthy.  It will come...slowly but surely.     It also says I should weigh 138 at goal....I may have weighed that in 6th grade so that for me is also unrealistic.....just saying...don't expect it...it all depends on the different variables like the other poster mentioned.  Good Luck!!
Someone posted on here, that their surgeon told them...the average weekly loss for the first six months was 3-5 lbs. Don't look at these amounts weekly, but monthly or more.
