losing too much weight?

I am 10 months out and for several months I was at a plateau shy of around 10# from my goal. In the last couple of weeks I have been losing a pound a day just like I did in the beginning. I have reached my goal and am now under. I do not want to lose anymore. I am beginning to feel like I look too thin (never thought I would be saying that)! Any suggestions on how I can stop losing and maintain what I have lost?

Get as low as you can, hon. When your body figures out how to stop (and begins trying in earnest to REVERSE your losses) you'll end up in a good place.

I wouldn't actively try to stop losing though. That usually puts bad habits back where you've worked so hard to put good ones. Your body won't let you lose but so much.

I pray for the day I think I've lost "too much", lol.  I would say don't be concerned unless your surgeon's office is concerned.  They won't let you lose way more than is healthy.

I agree with Nik, in all my years here on OH, there have only been a handful of people who have truly lost "too much" and needed enzymes or reversals and no one has completely disappeared

Your body will decide when it has had enough losing and I certainly would not advocate trying to influence that with food choices etc - I know a LOT more people who have done this and then had a big regain they've struggled (and some have not won) to keep off!!!

I call that the "Fallacy of Wasting Away..."

Honestly, the body is really and truly plotting. And eventually it'll get you. Like you said, Kim, those that truly have lost way too much are rare. Most of us find that where the weight was falling off before, we have to beat the scale downward as we get further out.

I never lost too much to begin with (altho my mom might have disagreed) so I can't relate to the feeling but folks, know that the human body really and truly was designed to ADD weight, not take it away. It'll get back to being able to do so in short order (shorter than you think!).

The goal is to be healthy not a certain weight...if you truly feel you are unhealthy due to weight loss, then your daily intake (calories) and exercise combined against what your daily calorie intake should be for the height and size you are should be easy enough to adjust...up calories or lower exercise and you will be able to adjust your weight...but again it's not just a one day committment...what you did last week or last month may also be affecting your weight.

Know your BMI range (google it for more info) and your BMR (google or try this http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm)...

Between both of these, you should be able to keep yourself at a wanted and healthy weight...good luck and be both happy and healthy!

Thank You all for your replies. I actually got on a BMI calculator and my BMI is 25.4 which is .5 into the overweight range. How funny is that! And again Thanks!

My NUT said its normal to go under goal, but not to worry because you'll eventually regain a little weight--putting you in a good place.

I need help. While I was thrilled at being disciplined and cautious; I now am 29lb under my goal weight. I weighed BW 236 Now 143. While in an acceptable BMI, I look old and gaunt. I am 67 years old, surgery date 02/01/17 and as common with all 'skin sagging'; my face is likewise sagging. I have lost weight but look 87 years old not 67. Any seniors out there or younger gals that have any ideas on what course I should take? My profile pic was taken in May at my goal weight. Not a current picture.

Eventually, if you really want to (or even if you don't) it will be easier to put on a few pounds. We all know how to do that, don't we?!

I just entered maintenance and started around where you are. I have added 100 calories per day, week by week. I'm not maintaining yet, but will be soon I think.
