Im having a bit of trouble with it this weekend. It started with pain in my hips on thursday and friday but for the last two days the pain has been in the center of my right thigh. Any ideas on what to take to ease this pain?

Usually, sciatic pain shoots down your butt, the back of your legs, and sometimes to your heel/foot. You can take Tylenol since we're not supposed to take NSAIDS without doctor's supervision. If it's an on-going problem, you probably need to see your PCP.

I get some pain right at my SI joint, but I think it's related to when I was pregnant. Things are never the same after a baby. LOL

trameel, a homeopathic medicine.  It comes in a rub, liquid and pill.  Works for me.

Thanx guys. Ive had this pain off and on for a while but right now its concentrated in my thigh and is so annoying. They think its coming from a compressed disc. I just wasnt sure what I should take if anything.

Try ice on your lower back. Keep it on as much as you can. Make sure it covers the right side. The tissue around that nerve swells and pinches the nerve so that's what causes the pain. Ice helps the swelling.

I would get terrible sciatica when I was pregnant.  Pain killers didn't help because the pain wasn't constant, it would just shoot down my leg when I moved.  I think there was something about being pregnant that caused it because I never have had it when I wasn't pregnant.  Anyway, what helped every time was acupuncture.  I tried chiropractors, message, special belts, physical therapy and anything else that was recommended and the acupuncture worked every time.  I just would have it once or twice and it never came back again.  Have you tried it yet?

Getting my second injection this week. I can't wait! The first one did a little to relieve the pain so I am hoping the 2nd will help much more!

Tylenol, since we can't do nsaids and ICE on the small of my back and near my left side where my pain starts. When it gets really bad, like 7 or more on the pain scale, I have some prescription pain meds. Walking also helps, believe it or not. The more sitting or laying around I do the more pain I get.
