Hi everyone, Has anyone cut their hair very short like a guy and seen an improvement with their hair loss? If this helped then I will cut my hair. Thanks for all your feedbacks. Arcy

If you Google Telogen Effluvium you will get an explanation as to why and how you are losing hair.   Cutting it short may make it look better but will have NO effect on how much you lose ...

A pixie cut can look very cute if you have the right face!

I am 10 months out and recently cut my hair short, it has had no effect on how much i lose. I will admit that the further out i have gotten from the surgery the less that i have lost.

I cut mine short, not exactly like a guy, but very short because I didn't want to see my hair everywhere.  Thick hair always sheds badly so I knew what to expect.  If you cut it short it will all grow back together.

I cut my hair short, and I mean boy short about a year ago. I liked it so much that I've left it that way. It's so much easier to take care of. I wouldn't have had the nerve to do it pre-WLS.

I had mine cut into a bob at about 3-4 months postop. It made the thinning less obvious and made me look so much better. I recommend you ask your stylist's opinion on whether a pixie cut or bob would suit you better. He/she would know better than strangers who never went to beauty school.

I cut  mine into a very short pixie cut and dyed it bleach blond (I am usually dark blond).   I had lost most of my weight so my face was slim and it was very cute.  Made my hair look much fuller.  At 3 years out I have shoulder length hair again.

As Kim said, cutting it very short may make it look fuller, but it will not in any way effect how much hair you lose. There really isnt anything you can do to limit the hair loss.  Some people lose more than others, and protein and vitamins don 't minimize the loss (but NOT getting enough protein and vitamins can make he loss WORSE).

I just left mine long, but had some layers cut into it to mix my regrowth with the rest. Short is adorable on some, but I don't think I could pull it off.

I jus had mine cut into an a line a couple weeks ago! I love it! It makes my thinning hair less noticeable to me. Others say they didn't even notice the thinning. I didn't have the nerve to have this style before when my cheeks were so full. I figured if I didn't like it, it would grow. Nice to try new things and have a fresh look!
