Band to RNY next Thursday....STRESS!!!
Although my surgeon is very experienced, he did have to tell me that he may NOT be able to revise to RNY after removing the band. A second surgery would need to be done a few months later. Now that's all I can think about. Is there any one who had successful band to RNY in one procedure??? I need a pep talk. Thanks!!!!!!

OMG, that was me. While my surgeon told me it was a low probability, it still was a possibility. When I woke up, the first 40 or so questions out of my mouth were "was he able to do the whole surgery?". Thankfully the answer was a consistent yes. On rnytalk.com , there's a whole forum devoted to band to bypass patients, and most (though not all) were able to be revised in a single surgery. Lots and lots and lots of luck to you - it's definitely possible that he'll be able to do both at once.
My surgeon said the same thing , they HAVE TO tell you that because it is a possibility !! my doc also said surgery said it could take up to 4 hours, and that if he couldn't do RNY he might do sleeve.
I went into surgery it took FOURTY FIVE MINUTES from start to finish,,,band removed , scar tissue cleaned up and RNY done.
All have gone well and I have had no complications with the surgery , had ome frustration with slow loss , but all of a sudden when I stayed away from the scale , the weight magically came off.
Hoping all goes as smoothly for you!!!! keeping good thoughts

My surgeon did a band to RNY revision in one procedure. I was told he had never had to make it two procedures. That made me very optimistic that I would not be his first.
