Cereal?

So my plan says that cereal is okay as long as I just put enough milk to make it wet. Does anyone eat cereal? This morning I had half a banana and 1/2 a cup of honey nut cheerios. I know special K makes a protein cereal. Or should I stay away from it completely.

Everyone is different - for some, the carbs in cereal just don't fit into their plan, or may be a trigger food. For some, like me, cereal makes me dump worse than anything else so I avoid it like the plague. If you don't suffer any ill effects and can fit the carbs into your plan, I think a whole grain cereal is fine - especially the ones higher in protein. If your plan says it's ok - seems like you should enjoy!

I have cereal most mornings; however, I use just enough milk to wet it.  If you're gulping down leftover milk at the end you're kind of violating the rule against drinking with your meal.  Otherwise, a nice whole grain cereal full of protein and fiber can be a great way to start your day.

I eat Fibre 1 cereal probably 2-3 times per week. Good for you and does help with regular bowels. Carbs are high on most cereals but my clinic recommends this one for its benefits.  And it is filling.  I use 1/2 cup of cereal with 1/2 cup skim milk

Only ice cream is worse than cereal for me - makes me soooo ill, even now!   I have tried everything from steel cut oats to weetabix to honey nut cheerios and the result is always one (or all) of the following - major dumping/carb coma/diahhrea!

If it works for you, and you are not drowning it in milk, then I'd say go for it as an occasional breakfast.

I've had cereal. It is a trigger food to me so I can't eat it.

I really like the Kashi Cinnamon Crumble. I actually use it more as a topping. I'll put a spoonful in my yogurt or as a treat I'll cut up a couple pieces of banana or strawberry with some jello and a spoonful of ff cool whip and top it with the cereal once in a while. Otherwise I just eat it with a little bit of milk and fruit maybe twice a week.

Cereal and milk makes me so sick.  I can't eat it at all.  I can eat a little dry cereal in yogurt without any problems.
