What's on the menu today, RNYers?
Hi OH Friends!
Today is the day I pack and leave for Dublin! I'm lying in bed being lazy but I'm leaving for the gym in 20 minutes. I thought I would do this post before turning it over to Pam for the next couple of weeks!
Time since surgery: 4 months and a week and a half
B: Believe Mocha Latte protein drink
L: leftover chicken fajitas from dinner last night (I weighed my leftovers and I brought 11 Oz home so enough for 3+ meals!)
D: yep, chicken fajita leftovers
This brings me to 729 calories, 72 g of protein, 39 g of fat, 23 g of carbs
E: 1.5 hours at gym. In a "plateau" and only lost 1 lb this week so want to kick start it!
W: no prob
V: I will choke 'Em down
I hate that my overnight flight will serve us some non-WLS friendly dinner and breakfast and I will say no. I brought snacks but I will be out of calories for the day. Oh well, it's all about choices!
Have a great weekend, y'all!
Morning All! Emily we both had chicken fajitas last night. I was a pig and ate both of my mini fajitas though so I do not have any left overs. My husband had steak fajitas. We had a fiesta! LOL! It was good! I wish I had allowed for some for tonight but if the truth be told I could eat them or pizza every night. LOL! Well that part of the reason my weight got out of hand. I gave into my cravings and ate what and how much I wanted. Thank goodness for learning portion control! Right? Hope everyone has a great weekend! Emily have a great trip!

To believe that you must hide all the parts of you that are broken, out of fear that someone else is incapable of loving what is less than perfect, is to believe that sunlight is incapable of entering a broken window and illuminating a dark room.”― Marc Hack

Enjoy your trip, Em! And take lots of pictures to share during the times you're able to do some sightseeing and fun stuff.
I've found my desire to eat returning, but not in a good way. It's more of that old craving feeling, that "gotta eat, gotta eat" urgency. I have a feeling it's because my carbs have been creeping up, so I'm getting back to keep carbs as low as possible for a few days to see if that helps. Today's menu, as always subject to change:

My friend Pam... my "hunger" is starting to come back as well, and I find myself starting to think about carbs & craving them as well... OMG! I refuse to let myself go there! I have had some head hunger and I am using all the tips my centre told us to use and so far so good, but just kinda bummed out those thoughts are back but all part of the journey and so we forge forward. Your menu looks awesome and way to keep those carbs low, damn you are good!!
Thanks Daze! I'm thinking that it's mostly head hunger leading me to the carbs, which leads me to more carbs, of course. Once upon a time I would have said "OMG, I just blew my diet, may as well just eat what I want now!" But now I'm able to look at the situation and think "Ok, not the best choices, time to start making good ones again." I think the thoughts will be a permanent struggle, and I think we need to forgive ourselves if we occasionally give in. But getting back up on the horse = mucho importante!

Do you (all) remember when you started deli meat? I'm on "Soft Foods" and I feel like I could probably tolerate it, but I'm hesitant. Deli meat isn't listed anywhere in my plan, including when I get to regular food - so I'm wondering about when I might incorporate it, forgot to ask the NUT last week.
Mostly I'm just craving some variety, particularly something that would be easy at lunch time!
