Stall 2 weeks Postoperative

I'm confused...I wheeled in to surgery weighing 243.., walked out weighing 248 at discharge and am at 229 for the past 2 days???? I'm beginning to question what's going on? I'm working out on the treadmill and following the rules of the liquid/purée diet. Is this normal?

Left the band and rocking with RNY.
They say I have an eating disorder but I say, I have my eating in order.

It is perfectly normal. Many, many people report a pause in their weight loss right around three weeks after their surgery, some a little earlier, some later. You can search the forums for 3 week stall or post op stall and see beelions and beelions of posts about it. Your body is just adjusting to the huge shock of major surgery and the drastic change in your caloric intake.

It's normal. It won't last as long as you stay with the plan. Put the scale away for a couple of weeks and ride it out, you'll do great!

Thank you. Direct confirmation is the best. I will def leave the scale alone for awhile. It's not helping my mental state.

I am 3 weeks post op and had a stall at week 2 that lasted about 5 days.  My surgeon said it is normal around week 3 but can be week 2 since I lost weight in my pre surgery diet.  Hang in there, it will move again soon.

I hit my stall around 2.5 weeks post op and it lasted nearly 3 weeks. So frustrating, but your body needs this time to adjust. Put the scale away and only weigh yourself once a week. This helped me get thru it without making myself crazy.

Totally normal.  What's going on is that you're losing weight at a normal rate.  You won't lose every single day.  No weight loss for two days is not a stall.

LOL.. sorry, but I JUST went thru this as well.. I am post op April 15th.. I was so mad at the scale.. I was obsessing about the numbers.. You more than likely recieved a good amount of fluids in the hospital... so that is the initial flush.. but it DOES start again.. I promise, just keep doing what your doing.. it will go.. Everyone loses at their own pace.

Thanks. I was actually able to put things in an even better perspective this morning... I figure I would freak out if I lost 11 lbs in a week like I did week 1...my initial fear was losing too much so I suppose I'm right on schedule.
