So I'm camping with friends. Was doing perfect and on plan till last. Isn't, when I ate WAY too much in 1 sitting. 15 minutes later I was having terrible pains and felt everything coming back into my throat. I spit up a little, but didn't actually throw up. All day today, I've had terrible stomach pains. I ate yogurt, got severe pain, so have been on liquids. Now just ate steamed zuchini, to the point of mush, and I am in terrible pain again. I'm terrified I have damaged or super stretched my pouch to the point of causing this pain. Any advice is appreciated. I just took some Gas-X but I don't know what else would be causing these pains.

You won't stretch your pouch by overeating one time.  It would happen gradually and wouldn't cause severe pain.

Is something stuck?  Or maybe the pain is not related to overeating last night.  If you're in terrible pain, I would go to the ER.

Thx Kelly. The pain is tolerable and I don't feel stuck but maybe I'm still trying to digest or it is severe gas. I'm going to stay on liquids and see if it goes away. I'm the ginger so this isn't the first time I've over eaten but this is the most severe. My daily calories yesterday was 1900 and I ate 1000 at just dinner, over the course of maybe an hour. Ugh. Why am I doing this after I worked so hard to have this surgery and lose this weight? My friends were camping with have been telling me I am too thin and should gain some weight, so maybe my mind thought it wouldn't hurt me to eat more last night. I know, crazy thinking.

Well, for most of us, if we were good at making healthy choices and eating small portions, we never would have ended up needing WLS in the first place.  So we are learning to do things a new way and that takes a lot of time and effort and sometimes we revert to our old ways.

Warm liquids might help.  Peppermint tea or ginger tea are both good for an upset stomach.  Walking is the best thing for gas pains, I think.

Thank you so much. I'll try anything at this point.

Don't beat yourself up after your great success.

I would guess that the next time you find yourself overheating that you will remember this camping trip.

Whenever I'm nauseous, I make myself throw up and always feel much better.

I hope that the rest of your camping trip isn't painful. It's bad enough to be sick at home.

Take care of yourself as best you can.

Zucchini is hard to digest. When I had my last gallbladder attack - prior to removal in 2003 - my meal was pork chops and zucchini in tomato sauce with peppers. The nurse told me that pork and zucchini are some of the hardest foods to digest. Good luck to you, I hope you feel better!!

Wow I did not know that pork was one of the hardest things to digest, but I believe it.  I had made pork loin last week.  Ate it fine.  A couple days later, I heated some up in a pan with water and lo and behold about 2-3 hours later, I got that feeling of fullness and then I got sick.  Felt better afterwards.  Will never eat left over meat like that again.  It happened before with ham.  Thanks for letting us know.
