To my fellow newbies: The week 3(ish) stall is totally real!

For me it's been more like a week 2 stall. I had surgery June 30th and I was doing great, cruising along, losing about 2 lbs a day for a total of 17 lbs in 12 days, loving life when suddenly on Sunday, nothing. Monday, nothing, Tuesday, nothing. Today, nothing.  I'm getting all my protein and water in, I'm walking every day, I'm even sleeping well so I have it covered on my end. I really think our bodies just have to re-establish some sort of equilibrium. I also think I could be shrinking a bit in size, if not in actual lbs on the scale.

It's not much fun though. 2 lbs gone per day is much better!

I am a month out today.  Prior to surgery I read a lot of posts on here and it seemed that 3 week stall was right on time for most folks and for many pretty frustrating.  I knew it would bum me out, so I have not weighed myself at all since I had surgery.  I was weighed when I went to my 1 week follow up and I go for my one month follow up tomorrow and will be weighed again.  I just decided to focus on my eating plan and exercise and let my body do what it needed to do for now. Knowing myself the way I do, I know I would have gotten frustrated once the stall hit.  I am happily in the dark right now.  If I hit a stall I have no clue.  Hang in there, based on what I've read once the stall ends you'll start losing again and see your results.  Keep up the good work!

I too have chosen the "dark" path in that I haven't weighed myself outside of the Docs office since surgery 6/27.

When I read somewhere that people average 5-12 loss per week post, I had a feeling I would be on the low end and would be totes sad if I had a wall in the first few weeks.  At my 10 day appt I lost 11 pounds and I was so happy - until my nut said that was a bit disappointing.   I was so upset, I had no words.  I am following my nutritional plan, going at my pace, walking daily and I'm happy with my progress.  My next nut appt is next Tuesday so I'm just hoping for good progress.

WOW on the 2 lbs a day - but yes shrinking is good!  I'm def starting to shrink a bit.

I'm a week out, I've heard about it! I'm scared! I have lost 12 pounds since I left the hospital. Actually I have lost 30, but I gained 17 in the hospital.

I stall regularly every 3 weeks or so. Yeah, it's annoying, but I don't stress over the number.
