Hi Everyone. All is a go for Dec 3; Insurance approved and surgeon firmed the date. Thank you for your advice thus far and excited (as well as a bit nervous) to be moving forward. Any other advice moving forward will be greatly appreciated. Looking forward to working the plan, to good health, and to feeling better about myself. WOO HOO!!

As you approach WLS, I approach the 2-year mark. I noticed you put the words "a bit nervous" in parentheses.  What I think you really meant was to put them in capital letters instead!  ha.  Good advice pre-op is to be proud of your head-start weight loss helping give you more confidence on Dec 3rd.  Good advice post-op would be to routinely attend some form of support group because reinforced, repetitious learning never stops but the honeymoon period does.  Creepy, old habits stalk me for weak moments more often these days and am pretty sure the door would be cracked wider open if I didn't continually reinforce new habits.  (it makes me a bit nervous) oops, I mean... IT MAKES ME A BIT NERVOUS.  Look forward, move forward, and never give up.

Haha It's like you are reading my mind selhard. The Caps would have been more realistic.I do plan om continuing with the group support long term. The group that I have been attending has quite a few people 2-5 years out and they have really been an inspiration to me and I hope to be the same for other newbies going forward as well as reinforcing my commitment. Yes I am nervous but I am using myfitnesspal app and loving it, I have lost over 30lbs on south beach the last nine weeks and I am currently transitioning from smoking to vaping- cut down 60% on my smoking so I really am hopeful this will all work as planned. Thanks!!

If you like South Beach Diet check out Kalyn's Kitchen Blog. She has lots of healthy recipes for everyone but she lost her weight with South beach Diet so she always mentions how the recipes work with that.
