Low weight loss-2 weeks post op
- I'm 2 weeks post op and I've only lost 9lbs. My average calorie intake is 500-600 and I'm currently taking in approximately 50-70grams of protein and 50-60 Oz of water. I'm living off of protein shakes, cottage cheese, light and fit yogurt. I've even started walking after my 1st week post op. I know I shouldn'****ch the scale or compare my results with others but I'm a bit disappointed. Anyone else had this issue?

Are you drinking all the water you need to? Sugar free popsicles, Jello, iced tea, crystal lite, those "Flavors" that you squirt into plain water all work for your liquids. Check out the ad on this forum for the Premier Protein shakes. They each have 30g of protein and only 11 ounces! If you cannot find them in a store near you you can order them from the company. There is also a link on here to contact a company that can check and submit paperwork to have your insurance possibly pay for the shakes. I really like the Vanilla! But before all that call your nutritionist that works with the Doctor that did your surgery. It is hard to learn the proper things to do but a good relationship with your team is essential. We all have that old fat problem of eating everything we see. That is very hard to break free of. Get into an exercise wellness clinic that understands what you are doing. They are not going to try to make you look like a Hollywood star. The emphasis there is all about you. I go three times per week and enjoy it quite a lot. You have to do exercise and plan for the long term as well. Go see your nutritionist as soon as possible. Good luck.

You've lost nearly one pound a day and your disappointed? Really? Just how much did you think you'd lose in 14 days after major surgery when your body is healing?

Try not to be disappointed in normal.
4.5 pounds per week is a lot.
You are also headed to the 3 week stall.
It is way to early to stress out. Just keep doing what you are doing.
Yes keep doing what you are supposed to do. It will happen.
