It's Been Almost Three Weeks Since My Rny AND I've Lost 15 pounds.  I know I should be happy but I don't feel like that's very good progress.  Am I loosing too slow?  Because of my obstruction I was on nothing by mouth for almost a week so I thought I'd have a bigger loss.  Or perhaps that slowed me down...I don't know.  Any thoughts

You're doing great. I lost 21 my fiest month, and I was bigger than you. If you follow your plan religiously, you will have great success.

6'3" tall, male.

Highest weight was 475. RNY on 08/21/12. Current weight: 198.

M1 -24; M2 -21; M3 -19; M4 -21; M5 -13; M6 -21; M7 -10; M8 -16; M9 -10; M10 -8; M11 -6; M12 -5.

thanks.  I'm doing pretty good most days for protein and gett I no between 40 and 60 ounces of water I'm taking all my vitamins too so hopefully the scale will move a little more soon.  I had read all these posts of people loosing between 30 and 70 pounds the first three months so I was hoping for results like that.

Hang in there you are making great progress. Remember slow and steady wins the race. Keep following the plan and you will positively, absolutely reach goal. Your doing great!

I know it's extremely hard not to do it, but comparing your weightloss rate to others is a great way to drive yourself nutty. I was just the same.  I was on here all the time during my first few months panicked that I wasn't losing quickly enough.  I'm what is generally considered a light weight so I only lost about eight pounds my first month.  So there really is a pretty huge range of what is considered "normal". 

I promise if you follow your plan things will be great.  The weight will come off and before you know it you'll be posting about how you are not able to keep your wardrobe stocked because you are dropping sizes so quickly.

The only suggestion I can make is to take some pictures now as well as your measurements, because it feels great during this journey to be able to look back and really see all your progress as you are making it happen.

Yes don't compare you are doing great. I had a 3 1/2 week stall the first month thought I was going crazy, how could this be? Lost my most weight month 3. Why? Who knows? Our bodies do what they want, just keep doing what you are supposed to do and it will happen.

Your weight loss is good, but keep in mind that u won't lose nowehere near as much weight if you don't exercise and have a calorie deficit. Some people think the surgery is a magic bullet.

Take measurements, it's the only way to accurately know if your losing fat. If the scale goes down, sometimes you've only los****er, muscle, glycogen or bone weight. Inches equals fat loss and dress sizes
