1 pound GAIN

I enjoyed my goal weight for 1 whole month.

Went in for my monthly weigh in, I've gained a pound.

I know nobody else would notice, but I was devastated.

I have definitely been off plan since December started meeting friends for dinners, lunches while Christmas shopping, not planning my food everyday.  It was a wake up call for me for sure that I can not become lax in my daily routine.

I woke up this morning and planned my meals for the next few days and will be compliant until this holiday is over.

I am scared that this is the beginning of my bounce back.

Just needed to vent and some support.

Thanks

Hello, HFA70!

Weight gain is normal post surgery. it's nothing to fret about. Just take a deep breath, and get back on the wagon.

Thank You,

Bounce back happens third year after surgery.  During the first year or so after reaching goal it is easy to keep regain low.

Try this again at 30 months out and regain will be a lot more than one pound.  Malabsorption works for at least 18 months after RNY

The good thing is, you know exactly how it happened. So you can fix it if you really want to. At least it was just one pound.

Weight does fluctuate. You could weigh yourself tomorrow and lose it...yet you did nothing different. I wouldn't consider it a gain. Especially since you are just starting to maintain your goal weight. Be kind to yourself. Do you only weigh yourself once a month? If you can manage to not be obsessive about it, maybe you should weigh yourself more often at home. I weigh myself every day and record it once a week. It works for me. I see fluctuations all the time. So they don't scare me. Good Luck!
