Ulcers
My doc thinks that I have an ulcer, or the starting of one. That is the cause of all of the nausea. They've instructed me to go back to taking Pepcid Complete daily to control the acid, told me to get rid of caffeine, and have given me a prescription for Zofran for the nausea.
I'm looking for some tips on how to manage this from anyone who also has experienced this. I can only take the Zofran every 6-8 hours, but get nauseous each time I eat, so should I be timing my meals with the meds? Also, the Zofran gives me a bad headache. So far, I've been coping with the headache because the nausea is worse. The weekend was kinda rough - but now I'm back to work and need to make sure I can manage this throughout the day.
My doc also suspected I had an ulcer. He started me on Carafate around 3 weeks post op. It works great for me. I still take it 2-3 times/day. I mix the tablet in warm water and drink it. It's very soothing on the tummy.

I also took the liquid Carafate and it worked really well. My problem is that I took it long enough to get better and quit when I should finish the entire treatment, and now I take medication for stomach burning everyday. Nip it in the bud and limit the caffeine and stuff; that will help.
