WTF......
My boss didn't want me to take leave for the surgery and she did every thing she could to stop me. Everything she did was done through email and I made copies of everything. The emails started back in December. I had surgery on 1/28/15 and was off for 3 weeks. Well I took an extra week because I wanted to make sure I was ready when I returned. Well the day I was suppose to return my boss had HR and I was put on an investigational leave saying I falsified patient information. Well this morning my boss and HR called me from my boss cell phone and fired me. WTF... WTF... who ever thought of being fired for having surgery. I have a nursing license so I am really not worried but wow, talk about some bull**it.

Wow... that stinks. Someone I met locally in my support group got fired while she was out for her surgery too...She was supposed to go back the day after New Years... and received a phone call New Year's eve day. Nice right? ... That is so heartless.

Wow! Thats crazy! I am so sorry your employer was soooo unsupportive. Especially in what I am assuming is a health care field, where a nurse's positive self care and health concious decision should be supported wholeheartedly! Best of luck in your job hunt and continued weight loss!! Hang in there!!!
Well first possible mistake was telling your boss why you were going to be out. None of their damn business. Second was not trying to go STD many companies require you to go STD after n consecutive days off, this is typically spelled out in your employee manual.
What should you do now? If you have all of the emails and they are anything less than professional I would go to an attorney and see what your rights are. I would go to the labor department and file a complaint for being fired while on medical leave.
