I am back to work, only small pains on the side.  Taking it easy of course, but feeling like im getting better!

The recovery from surgery was a lot better than I had anticipated, so thankful to finally be on this side!

My doc has us on 4 week post off liquids, so im still on protein shakes, broth, water, and greek yogurt/popsicles/jello is allowed.

I do have my mind games where i think things will stop working, but im trying to stay positive and just keep with it daily.  Man is it a struggle at nights... the emotional part of not having the food.  I started a journal and have been pouring into it, also looking at all of the before and after photos, and just trying to stay positive!

I am so excited and grateful to be here in post op and have success stories like many of you!!

THANK YOU all for your support!!

Congratulations!  That is awesome that you are doing well and healing well.  I play mind tricks on myself as well.  Just stop taking yourself so seriously.  (easier said than done.)  But in all honesty, the moment you start thinking that its all going to stop, or fail, and you second guess yourself pull out some sort of motivation you can keep with you that tracks or reminds you of what you have done so far.

We are literally the only group that can lose 50 pounds and worry about being a failure.  LOL  Someone said on here recently "I can have a cookie, just not today" and I have started telling myself that for anything I am craving.  It has helped quite a bit.  Just keep thinking about those 44 pounds and how there is no way you want those back on your body again.

I am 6.5 weeks post op and I also go through times where I wonder if I am going to fail at this, too.  I also had a failed lap band and I am starting to think that maybe those of us who have gone through that are even harder on ourselves than those experiencing first time bariatric surgery.  I didn't do all of this second-guessing the first time around!  I love the support and experience we get on this site.  It really helps me pull myself out of my head and realize that I can do this!  RNY is a totally different surgery and I am expecting a totally different long-term outcome this time.  You are definitely not alone in your questioning and I am happy you posted your fears.  There is so much support and so many people who are now living healthy lives it is silly to think are any different from all of the success stories on this site.  :)

You're doing great :)  I had the same mind games about it stopping.  Stick to your plan and you'll see that the tool definitely works!  xoxo
