Complications

I had gastric bypass surgery in December with no complications. However, my mother had hers done 4 days ago. She was sent to the er today because of an abnormal ekg and very high blood pressure.  Has anyone else had these issues and if so what could be the problem?

Any surgery is a major stress on the body. My BP and blood glucose were both really high the first few days after surgery but evened out. An abnormal EKG is nothing to mess around with though...I'm glad your mom is getting checked out, and I hope everything turns out ok!

How is your mother?

She's doing well now. Thanks for asking. The blood pressure meds they gave her caused some issues making the ekg abnormal however she had a CT scan done and everything was fine. She is now on different blood pressure meds and is doing wonderful.
