Where is the most cost effective place to get vitamins (multivitamin, calcium citrate, vitamin d3)?

Many people find that Walmart or Walgreens are good places to get vitamins inexpensively.  You can get Centrum multivitamins in either chewable or regular form for about $11 for 100 tablets at Walmart and I believe that Walgreens has a generic version for even less.   Walgreens and Kroger also often have BOGO half off or BOGO free vitamin sales that people take advantage of.

There is no reason that we need the expensive special "bariatric" multivitamins (which cost 3-4 times what Centrum does), but if you want those, depending on the brand, you just have to shop around the Internet for specials (which, unfortunately, don't occur very often). Most of them sell for about the same price no matter what site you get tthem from, but some sites offer better deals than others on shipping.

Citracal Petites is one brand I have used and is fairly easy to find. There is also a powder you can mix into drinks called Upcal D, which is really affordable (although harder for me to find in drugstores).

I use Amazon or Costco because I lose track of individual store sales. But as Lora stated, speciality bariatric vitamins are not necessary.

I get most of mine at CVS. I get the CVS brand when they are BOGO free. I spend around $20-25/month on vitamins.

How effective are the patches? The PatchMD seems to provide almost everything required (for me) for only $20 or less a month, and no yucky pills! (I don't mean to derail the thread), if the patches actually work, it might be worth for you to look into also.

where do you get the PatchMD and what vitamins and supplements does it contain? I've not heard of it before and wondering does it contain all we need.

I use the patches, have for about a month. I love them! I don't know yet though how my labs are going to look. I have new labs in the next couple weeks, then more 3 months after that. I will know better in a few months. I am horrible at taking all the pills, with timing, etc., so I figure compliance is a lot better for me and worth trying. Since I still get labs every 3 months, I can be on the lookout for any changes relatively quickly. I ordered a 3 month supply through PatchMD.com. OH has a coupon code, I believe it was OH2015, for 40% off, so I paid $45 with tax and shipping for all 3 months. Cheaper than all those pills!
