Low Energy

I am nearly three weeks out from RNY and still don't have any energy. My husband had the same surgery back in October and says it took him about a month to really feel like himself. I know recovery time is different for everyone, but I'm curious to hear how long it took others.

Hi there! I seemed to get some energy back between week 2-3 which coincided with the time I started taking all of the vitamins. Hope you're back to your normal self soon.

I was a lap band to RNY revision.  I'm 48 and this was a hard surgery for me.  It took me 4-5 weeks before I started feeling better.  I think recovery is such a unique experience for each of us.  Take care and listen to your body.

I never said it would be easy. I said it would be worth it.

I'm also a band to bypass patient, 38 years old, had a very active life before surgery.   I'm a little over 6 wells out and I feel great until about 15 minutes after doing anything.   Then I have to sit down or I'll fall down.   And I nap a lot.

I'm six weeks post surgery today and I am finally feeling like my old self again. My energy level spiked when I could introduce normal foods back into my diet. For the first two weeks I had to take a nap after work and I work at home...lol. I was just tired all the time. It gets better.

Six weeks seemed to be the magic number for me too.  Now I have soooo much energy. This will pass.

I am 4 weeks and 5 days out and am just now starting to feel closer to "normal." I have to pace myself throughout the day because I do get more tired then before surgery.  I also had my gall bladder out and part of my liver cut so I am thinking that may also play a part in my slower than I thought recovery.
