It differs for everyone.

No it's not to fast, your first month you will lose a lot; the lace will slow down.

Five pounds the first week is not too fast.  How fast you lose depends on how much you have to lose.  There is a Postop planner on this site.  Put your numbers in for an estimate.

Lose that excess as fast as you can.  There is no downside to rapid weightloss!  I had 100lbs to lose to get to a 25 BMI and lost 120lbs in under 6 months.  Never regretted it!

Most people lose around 100 lbs in their first 6 months. Everyone is different, so keep that in mind.

Just for reference, my goal was to lose 100 pounds in a year. Today is exactly 4 months since surgery and I've lost 119.  This can work really fast for some lucky people.

That is awesome that you did so well. I can only hope to be as successful. My surgery is Feb 16th.

HERE is the link to the post-op planner mentioned by White Dove. It was pretty accurate for my weight loss.

Try not to obsess on the numbers. Focus on following your plan and the weight loss will take care of itself. Good luck!!

I know it's hard......but try not to focus too much on the scale.  Just follow your plan.  Concentrate on protein and fluids, and the rest will take care of itself.  I think each individual will have different results it's very hard to compare yourself to others.  As you will soon learn......the weight drops when it damn well feels like it !!!
