Good morning everybody!

I am 24 years old, 370 pounds and I am having revision lapband to RNY surgery tomorrow. I was not successful with the lapband and it is starting to slip. I am excited to start this new journey and lifestyle change completely. My goal is to become a police officer and my weight has been the only thing stopping me from becoming one.

I am ready to get started! Wish me luck and if you have any tips for post op care please let me know!

Thank you!

You'll do great. Get up and walk as soon as you can.  Then walk as often as you can.

Great advice Grim! Walk as soon as they will let you. My nurse had to go with me the first time and I bugged and became annoying until she took the time to walk with me. Walk as often as you can too. The more you move the better you will feel.

Follow directions.  100%.  No F'ing around.

Ask questions - if you are not sure of something - ask!!!

Go to Support Group Meetings - at least 10 of the 12 months.   Put them in your calendar now and plan your life around them.

Everything everyone said. In the beginning SF popsicles and peppermint tic tacs were lifesavers for me. The popsicles were cold and refreshing and you could bite them... the tic tacs helped because I had a lot of nausea on and off for weeks.

Good luck and best wishes for a speedy recovery!   Be sure to walk as soon as you can while in the hospital.   Stay hydrated, so sip often and get your protein and vitamins in!   You will do awesome!
