2 week pre-op diet

I started my 2 week pre-op diet yesterday. It's not an all liquid diet, so I guess I cann't complain to much, BUT......................UGH. I guess once I get used to it and used to no caffine it will be better.

However, if my husband asked me one more time if I'm starving yet, I'm going to throw my 4oz of chicken at him!  :). May 9 can't get here soon enough.

Lol. Thanks! And yes, he did bless him. He calls me at work to see how I'm doing and starts out with........."Are you starving yet?" I told him today to just assume that yes, I am, and to ask me something else.  :)

I know it's rough.. but it's worth it!  I had to do it for 14 days.. and it was 3 protein shakes and NOTHING ELSE except for my 64++ ounces of water.

Stick with this.. it will make your surgery safer, keep you on track after surgery & get your body used to the low cal / high protein changes to come!

Thanks for the encouragement! I know I'm lucky compared to those who have the liquid only diet so I won't complain.......(too much)  ;)

I'm on week 2, but I get 3 shakes & 1 meal per day. I almost ate my arm off yesterday, I feel bad for people who only get 3 shakes period! But surgery is soon--so all worth it!

You can do this!  It's all worth it.  I had to do two weeks of Optifast -4 shakes/day with clear fluids. It'll be over soon because next will be your surgery!

It really is worth it.  I had 2 weeks of liquid only and now, 4 weeks post op, I barely remember it.

mine was one week of full liquids, I averaged 4 shakes and a bunch of chicken broth per day.  I hated the first 3 days more than anything else, other than being super morbidly obese.  On day 4 I felt good.

Stay strong, it's all worth it in the end!

I can feel your pain! I am on day 4 of my 9 day liquid diet. Surgery is May 3rd. The closest I come to solid food is the one yogurt I am allowed. We CAN to do! Soon we will be on the losers bench and this will be just a faded memory. My husband has been pretty supportive but he just keeps looking at me and saying "are you alright?" . I think he is waiting for me to go off the deep end.....if nothing else I will prove him wrong, lol. He really has been great though and he understands because he had to be on TPN in the hospital for weeks and was on liquids for weeks also. If he can do all that, I think I can manage 9 days.
