Be very careful of drinking calories.  Those calories will flow right through your pouch and not leave you feeling satisfied, especially when you are further out from surgery.  1% milk has about 90 calories per cup.  If you are drinking 3 cups per day that is 270 calories.  Most new post-ops eat around 500-600 calories in an entire day.  Drinking those extra calories leaves you little room for real food that will keep you feeling full.  Drinking calories will slow or stop weight loss.  Try some of the calorie free water enhancers.  I drink a lot of water with a few squirts of Mio.

I drink alot of water and have about 4 mios and 2 crystal lights.. i love them. And milk is on my fluids but just 1 percent.. its just something besides the water i can enjoy is what i mean and still get my 1/2 cup meals in. My dr and nutritionist told me not to count calories right now jus****ch sugar, carbs.

Milk has a lot of sugar. More sugar than proteins. So yea.. Too much milk provides a lot of sugar. 3 cups = 3x 12 he of sugar = 36 he of liquid sugar. I often don't get that much of carbs in a day...

I think it's fine to drink milk.  Milk has a good amount of protein, and no added sugar.  You might consider trying Fairlife milk (comes in whole, 2% and skim) because it's higher in protein and lower in sugar than regular milk.  As always, I would double check with your program's dietician to be sure.

I am sorry, but the phrase "no added sugar" means nothing.  Sugar also has no added sugar.  Fruit has no added sugar.  Veggies have no added sugar.  So perhaps the poster should eat a cup of sugar, an entire pineapple, a plate of sugar snap peas and a pound of strawberries for an meal because they have no added sugar?

Sugar is sugar.  Ask the vets on this board where "no added sugar" got them prior to surgery.  It got us nowhere except fat.

Natural sugar is still sugar.  Dairy sugar is still sugar.  Low fat doesn't mean low sugar.

Stop drinking so much milk... you are going to completely sabotage your carb intake.

Whether you were advised to, or not, you should absolutely be counting calories. Calories matter. Drink enough calories from milk, or anything, and you will start gaining weight.
