Vitamin patches

Hello,

I'm just wondering if anyone started on the patches right after surgery or waited?  I've read so many great reviews, and as I'm preparing for surgery, I thought about just going straight to the patches instead of buying multivitamins and calcium.

Patches may work for some and not for others . I use pateches but I still add minerals and vitamins to supplement the patches.  And my body absorb things through skin very well.

I started immediately post-op. I couldn't chew up the chewable Bariatric vitamins, they made me want to throw up.

Vitamins already have a tendency of making me throw up so that's partially why I'm thinking about the patch. Plus I'm scared of vitamin deficiencies and I know that I'm not great at rememberting to take pills.

I have been using chewable multi's, B12 pill, Vit D pill, calcium chews and Iron pill.  I am so tired of taking pills! I just did my first order from PatchMD last week, have not got them yet (you know stuff ships so slow from US to Canada) but I am really really looking forward to using the patches instead of a handful of pills everyday.  I think you will be fine but send and email to either the NP or the Nut at TWH and ask, but I don't see why not.

Good luck, I say go for it!  Don't forget to use the discount code "obesityhelp" to get $$ off!

Hi Daisy,

Did you buy a bunch of different patches (e.g.one for calcium/d3, one for b12, and one multi), or is there a single patch that covers everything? And is one patch a day enough, or do we need two a day to ensure we get adequate amounts? Thanks!

Hi LMA,

I bought 4 different patches:

  1. Vitamin D3/Calcium (30 day supply - use one patch a day)
  2. Multivitamin Plus (30 days supply - use one patch a day)
  3. Iron Plus (30 day supply - use one patch a day)
  4. B12 Energy Plus (30 day supply - use one patch a day)

As far as I know there is not one single patch that covers all that we need, I had to order 4 different patches.  And they come in a 30 day supply box and you need to use one patch at day per vitamin.  They are all $19.95 a box (30 day supply).  The discount code all in lower case is obesityhelp one word and it basically covers the shipping to Canada. Now what sucks is its US funds. BUT like I said to Daizymom I am so sick of taking pills everyday that putting on a few patches a day I think will be better.  I know one of our posters here does two patches during the day (you only have to wear a patch for 8 hours) and then takes those ones off and then puts another two different patches on for while she sleeps.  A lot of people are having success with them so its worth the money to me to spend.  Will give you an update once I have been on them a month how I feel and will get some blood work done after I have used them for a while as well.

Its really up to you how much money you want to spend.  You could just do 2 patches say Multi and Iron and keep taking calcium pills/or chews and a B12 pill.  Really totally up to you, but I am excited to try the patches as others are having good lab results!
