Don't know where to go from here

I realize I haven't posted this month much, I've just been reading and checking in. My pouch has been feeling so strange for about 6 weeks ,  I can only describe as a gnawing hunger and empty feeling and when I eat or drink it's an odd slightly painful and much different sensation reguardless of what I'm eating or how slowly I eat or drink . I have been a slow loser since my revision on may 3, and that's ok... I've been losing about 4 lbs a month after my first month of losing 16. I had spoken with my dr about not feeling any type of restriction as well as every time I eat I get nauseated and tachycardic. He prescribed me zofran to take with meals and explained that he creates a different type of pouch than most Drs so that his patients do not get sick during their first few months. But this month I have gained 5 lbs and my abdomen is distended . I feel like there is a problem going on, here is my dilemma ..... my surgeon dr jack Rutledge ....is , as his office stated " extremly ill and will not make a recovery, it came on fast and we are sorry to tell you that he will not be returning to see patients " I asked who was going to be seeing his patients and she told me that dr  ponce will only be taking on his brand new patients who have not had their surgeries yet. I've got my name in to see a few bariatric surgeons and in the mean time have an appointment set for my pcp to do some lab work .... is there anyone who can offer any insight on what else I should or could be doing ?

Ps . I am sticking to my plan and not straying from it with the exception of eating mashed potatoes one time in 5 months recently because my hunger is real and I was weak and made that stupid choice to go ahead and shove them In

I think the gnawing pain is usually acid. Is your upper back hurting at all? that is how it started for me.

I have not had any back pain at this point , but that is a good thought, I will begin taking Pepcid complete today and see if that helps until I get in to see someone.

I was thinking about you yesterday, and wanted to get on here and send you a message... then life got in the way.

I'm sorry you're going through this

I have no great words of wisdom, but I do hope you get some help soon! And hang in there, I know this is hard on you. I wish I could fix it for you!

Glad you are seeing your PCP! Hopefully they can see what's going on, or get you into a new doc that can help!

You're in my thoughts!

My initial thought was acid as well rather than needing Zofran, need a PPI. Don't know if you have a Costco membership- as Their generic Prilosec is much cheaper, but 2 pills OTC= the prescription dose I was on after surgery... Might be worth a try to see if it makes a difference, and then you might have something to tell the Doc when you see them if it works or doesn't work.

I would want to get my medical records, including surgical records to find out what this 'different kind of pouch' is... both for yourself, and as you find new Doctors so they know what was done.

I have heard with revision, you do lose slower, although a steady 4lbs a month gets you there... but if I gained 5lbs all of a sudden, I'd be concerned too....

Good Luck, and stick with it!

It was startling to get on the scale and see for sure! I'm ok with slowly losing and had accepted that but definatlely don't wanna go up . I have my medical records now on the way to the new surgeon and they made an appointment to see me October 11 .
