How are we all handling our new life style??

I am feeling great, made it thru vacation. My pre-planning worked well. Dealing with the "personalities" is another story for a different day!

I'm anxious to see the dietician on Thursday. I have many questions about measuring and proper protein calculations.

I have my first post op appointment tomorrow where I hope to be advanced to puréed foods. I'm getting in all my fluids, tolerating my little "protein meals" usually 1/4 - 1/2 cup of yogurt or cream soup. I haven't found my perfect protein shake, I really prefer savory rather than sweet (always have) and that has just increased since surgery. I'm asking tomorrow if I can mix unflavored protein with v8 juice instead of chocolate or sweet flavors

my stomach is so bruised! I look like I was beaten with a bat, lol but only one area really hurts and that is right above where my gallbladder was.

I hope everyone is doing well!

Surgery was 9/29. I'm doing great. No pain, walking alot and trying to sip, sip, sip. Only "eating" about 2 tblsp of protein cream soup with added protein powder 3 times a day. First full ow up in 10 days

Glad you had fun Pat.

I'm trying to work this out.  My surgery was open and I'm out of work for 8 weeks. I'm going crazy already.  I had the staples out last Friday, but he would not take the J Tube out.  It's very uncomfortable and pulls on my clothes. He won't take it out until 10/28

I don't like the diet my nut has advanced me to, no puree  foods, right onto 3 Oz of protein each meal.  I'm not doing it because the vets said it's too much.  I'm eating 1 to 2 oz of ground up protein and filling in with shakes.  I struggle with the water, but I'm getting close.

Still glad I did it, I'm down 25 lbs already.  They won't know me at work when I go back.

9/28.......sipping lots of liquids, feeling like I did 10 000 situps on that day but today feels like 500 situps. My steri strips came off already...some bruising but not like I thought there would be. Sipping Boost diabetic for morning, 100 grams of Oikos greek yogurt for lunches and still figuring out dinner. With all the liquids I drink, with all the vitamins and meds I take, I sure get full.

But onward and upward from here. Tolerating the foods really well. Doing a lot of walking and not too bad with sleeping

Surgery 9/9... down 14 pounds since then.  I am back to work this week, it is harder than I thought.  Doing well with food, sticking to about 500-600 cals a day with at least 60 grams protein and carbs under 50 grams.  Water good.  I have two more days of those stupid blood thinner shots in my belly.  Vitamins good except I keep forgetting my calcium at bedtime.  And I chose those opurity chewables... had to finally scrap them because they are just horrible tasting.  I still take a pain pill at bedtime because I developed a nasty case of sciatica that makes it hard to get to sleep.

Overall, great!  And so grateful!

RNY 9/20. Had my 2 week f/u today and was advanced to puréed foods, it felt and tasted so good. My port site that was infected looks great now and zero pain. I think my MA calculated wrong and said I only lost 12lbs. Last time I checked, 293-276= 17. So I am down 17lbs in two weeks and nervously watching for the stall.

I had revision from lap band to RNY on 9/23. I'm feeling great. The only pain I have is from the incision where they took the port out. My biggest saving grace during the shakes time has been the unjury chicken soup flavor. It's great for not having to always have sweet shakes. I've started this week with yogurt and cottage cheese and it's going well. Constantly sipping water and walking as much as I can. I've lost 12lbs since the day of surgery and 19 since the start of this process. I have my two week follow up tomorrow! I'm a very happy camper.

Had my RNY one week ago today and doing quite well. A lot of bruising but minimal pain.  Still trying to remember all my pills and when to take them.  Living on strained soups, Greek yogurt and cottage cheese at the moment, not rushing to the next level either. I lost 18 lbs on Optifast and only 3 since surgery, I guess my body is trying to figure out wtf happened. No regrets having it done.

Surgery 9/7 - so 4 weeks out today.  I ended up with the Sleeve. I've progressed through 2 weeks of full fluids to trying a new food every day.  So far the only grief I had was with taco meat but I had Wendy's chili yesterday and I was fine. I went through the 3 week stall for about 9 days.  I have lost 28.4 lbs. since starting the liquid diet, 12 or so were with the liquid diet, but then I bounced up after surgery, so all and all doing well.  I see my team on the 12th and go back to work on the 17th. I think I could have gone back to work earlier but am enjoying my time off.
