Just curious to see how long it took some of you light-weighters to meet goal? I have lost 58.4 pounds in about 4-1/2 months, and have about 40 pounds to lose to be at goal.

Lightweights or not, I would wager that the vast majority reach goal within a month or two of one year. A very few make it in 7 or 8 months.

There are a bunch more *****ach goal at 18 months to 2 years. And there are a small number who do it over several years.

6'3" tall, male.

Highest weight was 475. RNY on 08/21/12. Current weight: 198.

I'm not a lightweight, but will share my stats.

I lost 30 pre-op. After my RNY, it took me 14 months to lose 170 more and reach goal (BMI=22).

I lost from my surgery weight of 258.5 to 120 in 9 months but I am an extreme rule follower. I followed my eating plan 100 percent of the time and exercised at least 40 minutes daily. I have been at or below goal for about 31/2 years now and still weigh daily and measure and track my food when I'm at home.

My actual original goal was 165 then I lowered it to 145 and actually ended up at 120. And this was after a lifetime of being obese. I never expected to ever be this small but love my new active life now. Everything is so much easier and more fun. Best decision I ever made!

I was a BMI of 40 with 100lbs to lose.  Ended up losing 120lbs in just under six months.  However, I wasn't always morbidly obese, just overweight as an adult. Doubt I would get surgery now, but it was easier 12 years ago.
