5 months down this road!

So yesterday was my 5 month mark.

I managed to lose 9.2 lbs this month (it's slowing down), but overall I'm very happy!

I've had endless NSVs along the way, some subtle, like not feeling my neck sitting on my chest in certain positions, to going from a 20 down to a solid 14, with some 12's sneaking in, and Large tops with a few XL still working for me - from a 3x! I can cross my legs, at will, not with my hand pulling it over and then adjusting it to just that right position that it would stay put! I fit in chairs better, I can wear heels more comfortably, and the biggest one is that as of this morning, I now weigh less than I did the last time I went low carb and lost a ton of weight! Yesterday I weighed in at 179.0, which tied my lowest weight, but this morning I was 178.8... so now I'm officially  not allowed to beat myself up over those pounds. Everything from here on out is sweet victory!

I had a very tight pouch those first few months, and got a lot of things stuck. I know well of the foamies and slimies... words that I just didn't understand until it happened to me! But I'm happy to say that I can now eat almost all dense protein with victory. Some I can only eat 1.5-2oz of, like chicken and pork, and the pouch tuna is  still something that I am leery of... but it's definitely progressing.

I am down a total of 81 pounds in 5 months! I also became 'overweight' instead of 'obese when I hit 179!!

And thank you to all of the VETS for being so honest in your posts. I really do love that, and I've learned a ton from everyone on here, VETS and non-vets alike! Thanks for all of the great advice, support, and truth!!!

I love this Pam! Congratulations to you! I feel like we are surgery sister, because I had mine on 5.2.16 and you a couple of weeks later. Also, I am 179 today. It feels weird to even type it haha.

My weight loss has slowed down a ton from month to month, but overall this is the best decision I"ve ever made for myself and no one else!

Happy to be on this journey with ya!

I know, right!? We are so close in surgery dates, and now we are the same size?! That's crazy isn't it??!

Thanks, I love having people so close in surgery dates to keep me honest! You're doing such a fabulous job, and I love reading your menus and posts!

We're on one heck of a journey, that's for sure! I'm glad you're here with me too :)

Congratulations Pam, I'm so happy for you. I had my surgery on June 6th so we're pretty close in  our journey. It definitely is a crazy great ride. I too enjoy reading your posts. I wish you continued success on your journey.

Congrats on your NSV and the motivation it brings.

I am not typically a clothing focused person, and any thing I can fit in is what I usually wear, but a few years a go I bought some custom (Expensive) bicycling jackets that I was way too big to get into, hoping for a change soon, and not till this weekend did I finally do so. I was shocked and elated.

I am not looking for any boots, skirts or purses to match, (LOL) but this does feel like a great NSV.
