Tomorrow's the big day. I'm way more scared and anxious then I care to admit. I flip flop between complete denial and total dread. Clearly it's normal to feel some sort of fear or regret in this decision, because I hear everyone talk about it, but am I making a mistake? I surely hope not. The fear of the decision is more about myself then anyone else. I hope I am as strong as all of you successful "losers" are on here. My liquid diet was so hard that I can't imagine post-op being any easier. It would kill me-possibly quite literally- to fail after going through all of this. :(

I also worry about my son. He is only 16 months old, and I can't help but worry about him while I'm gone, and even when I come home. I won't be able to hold him close for a good while, and I doubt he will tolerate that well.

Wish me luck folks.

The great unknown is scary. You will do fine. Most people on here will tell you "No regrets"... even though there may be bumps along the road, it is still much better than being MO.

No regrets.  I am six weeks out and really the pull of food is mostly gone.  I love getting on the scale.  First time in my life that it just keeps going down, week after week.  I am so relieved of the burden of wondering how am I ever going to get this weight off?  Which diet to try next, or again?

No regrets.  Best decision of my life.  I was scared, too, but so glad I stayed my course.

Good luck with your surgery today.  You will do just fine. You won't have the hunger you have now after the surgery.  Let us know how your doing when it's over.

You are probably at the hospital, and possibly already in surgery, but good luck just the same!

I'm only 5 months out, but I already know this was one of the best decisions I've made in a long time! Yes, bumps... yes, some post surgery regret (very little for me), yes, you will get whiney about not being able to eat. I got a lot of things stuck (and still occasionally do)... but OVERALL... I wouldn't change a thing!!!

Hello I am 2 month's post opt, I can relate to your feelings truly I felt the same way. I have a toddler at home as well. He will be fine. Kids are resilient they adapt to any situation. The biggest hurdle for me was remembering not to pick her up. After the surgery it's much easier because you don't feel hungry at all. The hardest part for me was remembering to eat and drink on time. Good Luck
