Question about small pouch days

Every now and then, as many of you, I have small pouch  days. I've had two in a row this weekend.

For example, today I tried a vega protein shake with peanut butter. For lunch, I had 1.5 oz of sirloin steak, with a bit of guacamole and sour cream. which gives me 326 calories, 35 protein and 10 carbs.

I'm pretty positive I won't want anything for the rest of the evening, and definitely nothing solid. Normally I would just Consider it a small day and not give it another thought.

but is that what you all do? Or should I have another protein shake, or Greek yogurt?

Just curious how you all approach days like this.

Haven't had a small pouch day yet. What does it feel like?

I don't really know how to describe it.

Im still early enough post op that I never feel true hunger, but can and do  enjoy eating whatever my meal is.

For me, A small pouch day is different. I eat a few bites, and just feel done. It's not even a full feeling (definitely not like a pre op fullness)...just nope.

And three hours later, I still feel like just ate. And it's not like that feeling when something sits in your pouch longer than it should either.

Just extra not hungry? ¯\_(?)_/¯

This probably makes no sense as a description haha

People often talk about big and small pouch days. Some days you can eat more, and some days less. For instance, one day you can eat 3 ounces of chicken, and feel like maybe you could have eaten more. Then another, identical day, you eat 1.5 ounces, and feel like you ate an entire thanksgiving turkey.

When I have one of those days, I just don't eat much. At your stage, I would make sure I hut my protein number, and than just not eat anything else. Saving the calories is always a plus.

I definitely have small pouch days... good description.  Things just do not sit well.  I have been sticking to shakes and yogurt on those days - high protein items.  I had three days in a row a little bit back.  Then one day I went back to neutral.  I still have not felt hunger, though.

I wouldn't worry about it too much at 4 months out.  If you think you can drink another protein shake then great - works as protein and fluids.  Don't pu**** though.

If you have many small pouch days in a week and unable to get liquids in - call your centre for advice.

I WISH I had small pouch days - like 3 or 4 times per week would be great!

Your last sentence is exactly what I was thinking. Early on I had small pouch days, I'm now a little over 7 mo. post-op and long for them.  Sometimes I can only eat a little at a time, but an hour later could easily eat again if I let myself.

Sleever here, but I have small stomach days.  I just don't eat that much.  If I feel mentally weird, I'll eat a protein bar or shake, just to reach my numbers, otherwise I don't worry.

I still have them at 8 months. I don't force myself to eat solid food if my pouch isn't up to it. I usually I just try my best to drink thinner protein shakes to meet my protein goal. I always have syntrax fruit flavors on hand and those premier premades are thin enough.

Just do your best to meet protein and fluid goals, you're doing fine! :)
